Somewhere Over Laredo truly is a whimsical expression of positivity and an act of love for Lainey's fiancé. The music video is full of her colorful country dream world. Her cute dog makes an appearance walking with her on the desert south road. Then she switches to a bed scene in the middle of a corn farm. This magical world has beautiful colors. Moments to highlight falling in the beginning from the airplane, her riding through the desert on her horse, and eventually the clouds consume her while riding into them. This music video has enough elements to keep you guessing and wondering what will happen next. As a fan, expectations are met with joy and happiness. For a first-time viewer, I would be a little confused, but there is just enough action and mystery to pull you in. Overall, a great success. I see this song/video possibly being nominated for CMA Awards.
